Paddy McNair - nominated for Newtownabbey Adult Sportsperson of 2014

Paddy McNair, a former player with Ballyclare Colts, is one of the 3 local sportspeople shortlisted for Newtownabbey Sports Award for Adult Sportsperson of the Year 2014.

Paddy played for Ballyclare Colts FC for 4 seasons from 2005 until 2009 when he moved to Manchester United. He joined the Manchester United youth squad in July 2011 and has now progressed to the U21 Team.  He debuted for Manchester United first team on 27th September 2014 and upto the end of 2014 he had made a total of 8 appearances in Premier League matches.  He has also represented Northern Ireland at Schoolboy level through to U21.

Paddy is up against boxer Paddy Barnes and hockey player Neal Glassey for the title.
